Most Popular Tourist Attraction In Sydney

Australia’s oldest, largest and most urbane city, beautiful Sydney has something special to offer every visitor. Broad sandy beaches and scenic cruises make the Harbour City the perfect holiday destination for travelers looking for fun on the sand and sea. First-class dining, shopping and cultural institutions like the iconic Sydney Opera House beckon those searching for an enriching travel experience.

The most popular overall tourist destination in Australia for a number of reasons; it’s world famous harbour is a focal point, containing a variety of highly-recognisable landmarks such as the Harbour Bridge, the White Sails of the Sydney Opera house, the spectacular beaches, the exciting night life, its highly-regarded array of quality restaurants, and its vast number of fun-filled tourist attractions and wildlife facilities such as aquariums and zoos all round out the experience.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Sydney Harbour Bridge was built in 1932. The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel through arch bridge across Sydney Harbour that carries rail, vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district and the North Shore. The bridge has 134 m heights and it is the highest arch bridge in the World.

National Maritime Museum

The premier tourist attraction in Sydney’s recently redeveloped Darling Harbour, the Australian National Maritime Museum is best known for its historic seafaring vessels, which include the 19th-century tall ship James Craig and a full-scale replica of Captain James Cook’s Endeavor.

Bondi Beach

The most popular sliver of beach in all of Australia is packed on summer weekends and gloriously quiet (but just as beautiful) in the middle of winter. Whenever you choose to visit, you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful beach view and a tinge of self-satisfaction because you’ve managed to set food on the most famous sand in the land.

Vaucluse House

Vaucluse House is a rare survival of a 19th century harbourside estate. It retains most of its domestic offices and kitchen, stables and outbuildings and is still surrounded by 26 acres (ten hectares) of gardens and grounds. Original cottage built by Irish convict Henry Browne Hayes in 1805 and expanded by William Charles Wentworth.

Sydney Tower

The Sydney Tower is the city’s tallest structure, offering 360-degree views of the compact metropolis, harbor and surrounding countryside. Designed by architect Donald Crone, the building opened to the public in 1981. Standing 260 meters (850 feet) above ground level, the building’s Sydney Tower Eye features an enclosed viewing platform that fully encircles the structure.
